2020.06 Joyful June, Hope Joy, Word of the Week

Word of the Week: Happy

Happy is defined as feeling or showing pleasure or contentment, or something that is fortunate and convenient. I love that happy has both definitions. Because by choosing to be content you will start to see the fortunate things in your life more clearly. Think of Bob Ross’s happy little trees. They started out as a mistake, but he thought that was a convenient mistake because it became a reason to add some little trees, which in turn added to his pleasure in the process and completed project.

Happy is an especially great goal when joy seems unattainable, because happy can be quiet and peaceful. Content is one of this fatigued mama’s favorite emotions because it takes no energy to be content. Finding contentment is as easy as taking a few deep breaths and focusing on a few things you are grateful for. For me, it’s the smile on my youngest’s face and knowing that my oldest is looking out for me. Or maybe just that my husband will be home in a few hours or more.

Maybe I’m not making any sense, my brain is a little jumbled this morning. But the quotes for this week say it better than I can.

Wishing you all a very happy week.
