2020.01 January--New Year, Word of the Week

Word of the Week: Change

Deciding on a word for this week has been difficult. The hustle and bustle of the holiday season hasn’t helped much. For the month of January all my words are going to be focused on the types of things our resolutions usually focus on. I actually thought about using resolution, but felt uninspired by the word itself. Instead I’ve decided that with the changing of the year and the decade I would go with “change”

First a little New Year’s trivia. We celebrate the start of the new year in January thanks to Julius Caesar and the Julian Calendar. January takes it’s name from the god Janus. Janus was a two faced god, one face looking forward to the future, and the other looking back to the past. He was the god of beginnings and endings, of passageways and doorways, and of time. In short he was the god of change.

So as you sit and make resolutions about the changes you hope to make this year (if you are inclined to making New Year’s resolutions, I hope these few quotes and inspire you to make for brave and healthy choices going forward. And please tell me in the comments: What changes would you like to see in your life in 2020?
